|Road||Henderson Beach Rd||North side of 98 to Walmart Entrance||Obstructed||08/28/2018 11:43:17||Henderson Beach Road, from the north side of the U.S. 98 intersection to the entrance of the Walmart shopping center in Okaloosa County, will be temporarily closed beginning Tuesday, Sept. 4. The entrance to Henderson Beach State Park on the south side of U.S. 98 will remain open.
This temporary road closure will be in place for several months while crews adjust the elevation of the Henderson Beach Road-U.S. 98 intersection. U.S. 98 westbound drivers destined for Henderson Beach Road will be detoured to Commons Drive via Triumph Drive and U.S. 98 eastbound traffic will be detoured via Indian Bayou Trail.
Detour signs and variable message boards will be in place to help direct traffic.

|Road||Beal Parkway||From Manring Dr to Racetrack Rd.||Obstructed||01/09/2018 12:56:30||Construction activities are underway on State Road (S.R.) 189 (Beal Parkway) in Fort Walton Beach. Crews will resurface a one-mile section of the road from Manring Drive to S.R. 188 (Racetrack Road. The project also includes construction of north and southbound, left turn lanes at the intersection of Carmel Drive/ Clifford Street and upgrading traffic signal heads, removing/ replacing and construction new sidewalk on the west side of the roadway, safety upgrades, drainage improvements, and placement of new signs and pavement markings.
Work requiring lane restrictions will take place from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. Pedestrian, business, and residence access will be maintained throughout the project. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through the construction area when workers are present. The $1.5 million project is anticipated to be complete summer 2018.
